Hello! This is our first article, greetings from the VS Line Clinic Gangnam. 🤗
Everyone wants healthy, beautiful skin—it enhances your appearance and boosts confidence.
So how do you maintain healthy, glowing skin?
It starts with accurately identifying your skin type. ✅
Different Skin Types Need Different Care!
Skin can be broadly divided into three types. Which one are you? 😉
-
Oily Skin: Excess sebum production makes skin shiny and oily, with enlarged pores prone to blackheads and acne.
-
Dry Skin: Lacks both oil and moisture, causing tightness after cleansing and frequent flaking.
-
Combination Skin: T-zone (forehead, nose, chin) is oily, while U-zone (cheeks, jawline) is dry. This tricky skin type requires different care for different areas.
The basics of skincare are cleansing and moisturizing - removing waste and dead skin cells creates an environment where skin can breathe. Care tips differ slightly by skin type!
🫧 Oily Skin
Oily skin management focuses on 'controlling sebum production'! Reduce greasy or sweet foods as they promote sebum secretion, and avoid touching your face frequently.
Regularly washing pillowcases and towels that collect oil and dirt is also an effective preventive measure. 🧺
-
Cleansing: Use 'oil-free' and 'non-comedogenic'(won't clog pores) products to gently remove sebum and excess oil and buildup.
-
Moisturizing: Apply lightweight moisturizers containing hyaluronic acid or niacinamide to add hydration while minimizing oil.
🫧 Dry Skin
For dry skin, moisture retention is key. Using a humidifier or hydration mist helps prevent skin dryness.
-
Cleansing: Keep it short with lukewarm water and avoid harsh cleansers.
-
Moisturizing: Apply moisturizer within 3 minutes after cleansing to prevent moisture loss. Products containing ceramides, shea butter, or squalane that strengthen the skin barrier are effective.
🫧 Combination Skin
Since oily and dry areas coexist, different approaches are needed by zone. Regular monitoring is essential, as skin conditions can change with the seasons.
-
Cleansing: Cleanse the oily T-zone more thoroughly while minimizing irritation on areas that feel dry.
-
Moisturizing: Use gel-type moisturizers with oil-control on the T-zone, and higher-moisture cream types on the U-zone.
Healthy Daily Habits for Better Skin
Skin is greatly affected by small daily habits. Consistently maintaining these daily habits helps improve your skin!
The morning routine focuses on protection, and the evening on recovery.
🫧 Daily Routine For Skin
-
Adequate Sleep: Skin regeneration happens during sleep
-
Water Intake: Drink 1.5-2 liters of water consistently daily
-
Sun Protection: Apply sunscreen even on cloudy days or indoors
-
Stress Management: Stress can trigger hormonal changes that can lead to breakouts
🫧 Morning Routine For Skin
-
After cleansing, use a light moisturizing cream or serum
-
Apply sunscreen thoroughly to protect skin from external irritants
-
If wearing makeup, gel-type moisturizers with less oil work better
🫧 Night Routine For Skin
-
After cleansing, focus on sufficient hydration and skin regeneration
-
In addition to moisturizing cream, apply nourishing creams containing retinol, peptides, or ceramides to help restore the skin barrier
-
(If needed) Use overnight sleeping masks 1-2 times weekly for intensive hydration

Skin doesn't change overnight - it's created through daily careful management and consistent habits!
